Lucky 10

Finally, my mum is getting back on the ball.... speaking of which - I was a Sugarbush Farm this last week-end and actually may have got my fill on balls for one day!
Saturday my mum took Andy, Kimball, Sully, and me for our run around the Weston Reservoir, which is always a good warmup exercise (approx 3 miles). After we dropped Sully off and got home (Kimball was to spend the week-end with us - whatever!), mum started running around the house packing bags, the eski, grabbing sleeping bags.... Andy was getting all nervous. He thought mum was going on a trip without us! But he was WRONG, we were going too! First, after Vicky got up, we went to my agility class. I did well, my mum was happy, cause I haven't hung on her pantslegs for quite a while now.... ;-). That's what I do when I get confused and overstimulated in the ring. Gotta do something, right? And that's what comes to mind.

Well, after class we went for a long ride. I didn't mind, I was a little tired and slept most of the way. But once at SBF Andy, Kimball, and I were HORRIBLY neglected! Mum and Vicky kept going out to take care of those Border Collies that came from some hell and didn't know people were treat-dispensers on legs. So MY humans kept going and feeding them goodies - including the two little ones in the house. But did we get treat after treat after treat? NOOOOOO! They just let us have one every once in a while, or took us out and played ball with us till one of us (usually a human) was tired - and then went back to those strange dogs to treat them some more! One of the little girls in the house started fussing when we got too close to her crate, and the other one, Spice (or spicy girl as my mum started calling her) had the nerve to show me her teeth after a couple of days, when I was sneaking in to get some of the loving Vicky was giving HER....!

Mum and Vicky felt REALLY bad for those 10 "rescues" though. Not only did they not know that people are meant to feed us superior beings, they also didn't really know how to retrieve balls or destroy toys. Most of them would prefer humans to stay away from them, and it took a lot of treats and a few ear scritches to make them less fearful. They must really have had some sad experiences! Good thing Emily, Kathy and Craig could stay after we left, so they can keep showing the Lucky 10 how to be real Border Collies :-). It will take a while..... :-(.

Andy and I were glad when we got home Monday night. It had been tiring, and we went right to sleep. Kimball was happy to go home with her dad, too. Well, here's a picture of Vicky and that Spicy Girl- she was getting way too comfortable in Vicky's arms!!!

I hope mum will get on the blogosphere again soon ... I know she wants to put some agility pictures up for people to see how well I do when mum doesn't screw me up....

Did you see my video?

So mummy FINALLY got the video posted in this blog thing. Only took her about thirty copies and pastes, kinda like throwing the ball for me and I keep coming back for more....though lately I've been tiring a little sooner...Mum's a little worried about that....she said something about a vet visit? Will that be fun?

Anyway, if you watch the video, please don't forget, this is Mummy's first time in agility, and she hasn't learned any handling tricks yet, so please cut her some slack. Plus I really thought it's all about me herding her shoes and every once in a while snapping at her pant legs - so much fun! But we're working on this, and here on our little street I've been following her hand so much better. Now, once the yard dries up we'll work with those weave poles she built all by herself. Mum still has to figure out how to show me what she wants me to do (in the video there are gates on the poles - shhhh don't tell anyone, I look so good! ;-)

We had to take a break from agility class, but I can't wait to go back!

Mummy has to learn a lot in Agility!

Mum thinks she can blog...

So my mum's been reading me Dune's and NualaSkye's and everycollie else's blogs, and now she thinks she can make one too! Huh - she didn't figure me, Tag, in. Did she?!

I don't have time for her to be typing on the kompooter, when she has to go and throw me fizbees and balls! Dune's not the only dog who needs someone to throw all day long. But every morning she takes off without me anyway, and while I nap from running after fizbees on the playground at 5:30am, she gets to play on her kompooter at work and look at blogs! So she said she'd try and write at work and then I can adit (get it add+edit?) later.

She also said that Steffi and Vicky, my human sisters, have to take lots of pictures of everyone before there's anything to put on the blogsite. So everycollie out there looking at this blog - please be patient and next time I'm exhausted (yeah, like that's going to happen), Mum will try and put some more stuff up.

In the meantime, everyone: Go out and throw fizbees and balls for your doggiebosses!
